Mt. St. Benedict/ Mt. Tabor is situated 600ft above sea level, it is well known as a significant tourist attraction providing spiritual guidance to Christians and Non-Christians alike. Mt. Tabor was once a vibrant location which accommodated young monks studying theology and those seeking seclusion. The rugged elements of nature have destroyed the wooden Tapia structure and all that is left of this majestic building is some concrete ruins. Due to numerous bush fires the forestry division has plant pine trees to preserve the forest. The grandeur of the pine trees, peaceful atmosphere and cool breeze blowing across the mountain top, creates a relaxing sensation. There are breath-taking views of the surrounding Maracas St. Joseph country-side, the East–West Corridor and the Central Plains.
Duration: 60 mins (one way).
