This bay is located deep in the woods of the Moruga forest on the south coast of Trinidad. The hike begins along the Main Field Road at the Petrotrin Grounds in Guayaguayare.
From there we start with a short uphill climb then continue along a virtually flat trail ending with a short descent to the bay. The thick southern forest, with balata, silk cotton, wild chataigne, roseau, carat, and cocorite, provides a canopy that shades you from the direct rays of the sun. Along the way the mating calls of male howler monkeys can be heard. Apart from the joys of being in a natural pristine environment, the other attraction of this hike is Canari Bay. This beach is secluded with miles of inviting sands and warm, soothing, calm water. If the hike did not melt all the stress of daily life, this beach will take the remnants away.
