A hike only for the brave and bold, this hike is a 42 kilometre (26 mile) trail that runs from the village of Blanchisseuse to the homely village of Matelot.
The hike begins at the spring bridge in Blanchisseuse and alternates through untapped beaches and timeless forest. Beaches along the way include Paria, Murphy’s Bay, Petit Tacaribe, Gran Tacaribe, and Madamas. From Madamas, the trail tapers down until you reach the Petite Riviere River, where you take one last drink of water and face the last series of hills through abandoned estates filled with cocoa, coffee and nutmeg, before arriving at Matelot Beach.
Participation in this hike is not guaranteed based on interest but is at the sole discretion of the directors of CHA.
